Sometimes if I am feeling a bit down or sad I try to find ways to uplift my soul. At first I may not have the energy to even do anything however once I find the will to do something such as the suggestions in the list below I know I will feel much better! So if you are feeling a bit down or low take some time out for yourself and reconnect to your soul.
Practice Yoga
Stepping onto the yoga mat can be challenging. Sometimes we may not have the energy to practice however I guarantee that once you do step onto the mat and do the practice you will feel so much better! Yoga is uplifting for the body, mind and soul and the lessons you learn on the mat can help you to deal with any challenges you may be experiencing in your day to day life.
Connect to Nature
Recently the weather has started to improve and it feels a bit more like spring. On the weekend I went for a walk and it felt so good to feel the sun on my face and to be in nature. Nature has an unbelievable healing energy that can be grounding and supportive.
Spend Time with Family and Friends
Developing good relationships can help us to connect with a positive energy and a positive group energy has a huge impact on the soul. Therefore be sure to surround yourself with uplifting people who make you feel good!
Get Creative
What type of activities do you like to do where you can just take your mind off of everything? Do you like to bake cakes, write poetry, paint pictures, take photographs… the list of creative experiences is endless. It is really important to find a creative outlet where you can express yourself and find a sense of joy. Be sure to find a creative outlet where you can have fun in the experience rather than being too dependent on the end outcome. To help you with this remind yourself of this great quote…

Cook and eat something delicious, healthy and wholesome
When we are feeling down or sad we may look to things such as chocolate, cakes, biscuits etc or in extreme cases alcohol or drugs for comfort. As much as you can listen to the voice of intelligence (also known as Buddhi in Sanskrit) and try to nourish yourself in a healthy way. There are so many nutritious recipes and even blogs online that that can help you to create dishes which are not just delicious but easy and fun to prepare. I’ve recently been following Deliciuoslly Ella on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/deliciouslyella/ and her pictures are so inspiring. She also has some great cook books which may motivate you to create some great dishes too.
I hope the above suggestions inspire you to go out and about to make yourself happy at a deep soul level. Also when you work on your own soul happiness you also lift up others along the way too! So keep spreading your amazing energy with the world.
