Today we are off the yoga mat and we are outside! The weather has started to hot up so I thought I would shoot this video outside! So welcome to my outdoor office!
Today I want to talk about the importance of creating a morning routine that ties in with the principles of yoga. Routine is also known as Dinacharya in Ayurveda. It is really important to set yourself up with a regular morning routine as it grounds your energy and gives you the foundation to start your day.
Now obviously I am a yoga teacher it is my job, my career and my way of life so I do take a lot of time with my morning routine. However if you work or you have a family to look after or other commitments you may not have as much time therefore I would advise you to just implement one or two things which I am going to talk about into your morning routine. As even just a few simple techniques can help you to set up your day from a place of inner strength.

• Alarm clock tips
• Positive affirmations/ words
• Stretching in bed
• Drinking warm water with turmeric which is healing and cleansing
• Dry skin brushing which unclogs pores and is good for circulation
• Oil pulling which draws out toxins within the mouth and is good for overall oral health
• Self massage also known as Abhyanga in Ayurveda
• Morning practice of yoga, relaxation, breathing and meditation
• Eating breakfast in silence to preserve your meditation
• Journaling
