LOOKING BACK AT THE LOVE YOURSELF EVENT

On Sunday 15th February 2015 I had the wonderful opportunity of taking part in an event to inspire and empower women. Myself along with Prabha Shiyani of Flourish Wellbeing and Sadhna Chaman of Rebalancing Life had met back in 2014 through the networking group Asian Women Mean Business (AWMB). The organisers of AWMB connected the three of us together and suggested we put together an event based on health which they would support.

The opportunity was something not to be missed and the three of us started to brainstorm ideas. It became a creative process and before we knew it we had decided to hold a ‘Love Yourself Event for Women’ to be held the day after Valentine’s day! It felt right to celebrate love at a time when it is recognised and celebrated in society. Organising the event felt effortless as we each took on the tasks which allowed our natural talents and creativity to thrive.

The day itself included three talks; ‘How to Love Yourself’ by Jaina,  ‘The Emotions and Energy of Food’ by Prabha and ‘Managing Stress Naturally’ by Sadhna. Here is a quick glimpse of my talk…

The talks were then followed by an open networking session where guests could speak to each other as well as enjoy a range of tasters from our stall holders which included; Simpy Be You Jewellery by Krupa Pattani,  The Colour Stylist by Manjit Bains,  Hand made chocolates by Bianca Marton Chocolates,  Massage by Seema Agarwal,  Reiki by Sadhna Chaman and  Juicing by Prabha Shiyani. The day was then completed with a heart centre meditation by myself.

Women don’t often take the time to explore the deeper parts of themselves. It was our intention to create a space which allowed us to connect and share with the audience what we have experienced and learned from life. By sharing our stories we hoped that it would resonate with women who wish to explore the various options to take care of their own health and wellbeing.

We also had the pleasure of two teenage girls coming along to the event. It felt great to be able to inspire the younger generation of girls to take care of themselves in this manner. The event was fully booked and the feedback since has been amazing. Here are a few words from Kim Masters on her experience of the event…

I really enjoyed the space you have created and the connections you are facilitating. It was a really great event!

We are hoping to create more events in the future so watch this space! If you would like to get involved please get in touch jaina@yogawithjaina.com. We would love to work alongside anyone in the holistic field or anyone who has an inspiring story to share with other women.
