Today we are on the yoga mat and I want to take you through a stretch practice which is a great way to start your day.
This practice will focus around the sun salutation which is a series of poses in reverence to the sun. The sun rises everyday and provides us with light, energy and warmth in the summer. Sun salutation is a great way to honour and respect the sun as well as allowing your own internal sunshine of joy and happiness to shine. It is even better if you can practice this whilst the sun is rising!
In this video I will take you through a basic sequence which is good for beginners or to use as a warm up and an advanced sequence which is for those who are slightly stronger in their practice.
These sequences have been inspired by a group of teachers who I am working to celebrate the International Day of Yoga on Sunday 26th June 2016 to . We are hosting a 108 Sun Salutation Yoga Mala to raise money for St Luke’s Hospice and you can find full details here http://www.stlukes-hospice.org/IDY You can use this video to help prepare you for the event.
