Here is a short text message question from a recent new student on practicing yoga classes and meditation classes.


Hi Jaina,

I enjoyed your class but am toying with whether or not I’d prefer the meditation classes vs doing the yoga classes. Do you have any advice as to what is better to start with?




Generally yoga classes are the first option as we also touch on meditation in the class so it will gently ease you into the practice of meditation. The meditation workshop is more intense but a great way to connect and learn about the mind. I suggest you come to two or three more yoga classes and see how you go and also try the first week of the meditation course. We can then discuss things to see if you are ready to continue with the rest of the meditation workshop as well as the yoga classes. 


Also remember ultimately we train and strengthen the body through yoga asanas (postures) to sit in meditation. Therefore the final goal is meditation. With this in mind along with patience and regular practice for your body and mind you will achieve many benefits from yoga.
